Respected speaker and lecturer, Edir Macedo is also a writer with numerous published works, many of which have more than 3 million copies sold. In the field of theology, stands out among evangelical ministers of Brazil and the world, having attained the degree of Doctor of Divinity (DD), Theology (Th.D) and Christian Philosophy (Ph.D).

Bishop Edir Macedo was born in a small city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, called Rio das Flores, in 1945. At very young age he missed something that would fill his heart's emptiness: A real encounter with God.

That encounter happened in 1963, which changed his life completely. After being filled with the Holy Spirit he felt a strong desire to share his experience with everybody.

In his messages and books he does not write based on theories he learned. His communion and experience with God as well as a happy and solid marriage are the main important aspects that make his writings lead many people to a better life.

As an evangelical writer, Edir Macedo stands out with more than 10 million books sold, and over 34 titles published. Some of his best-sellers are “Orixás, Caboclos and Guias” and “In the Footsteps of Jesus”. Both surpassed the mark of three million copies sold in Brazil.
